Formatting
Although the basics of a manuscript are generally the same, each journal has specific requirements. We can format your manuscript for the journal to which you would like to submit.
When formatting papers for journal guidelines, we do the following:
- Overall document formatting (i.e. paper size, margins, page numbers, line spacing, sections start on a new page, etc.)
- Check the title page to make sure the required information is included, spelled correctly, and presented in the correct order (if something is missing, we will add comments stating what has to be added)
- Make sure the abstract is in the correct format (i.e. structured with the correct subheadings or unstructured)
- We will also reduce the word count of the Abstract if necessary
- Check that keywords have been provided in the correct format (if applicable)
- Check the list of abbreviations or make the list for you (if applicable)
- Check the order of the sections (i.e. tables before or after the references etc.)
- Check the reference format
- Check the extra required sections such as conflicts of interest, funding etc.
- We can also write a cover letter for you if required (this is charged)
Our formatting service can also be combined with our comprehensive and standard editing services.
