Rephrasing

An increasing number of journals check for plagiarism using services such as iThenticate. These services check your manuscript against a vast database of published research articles to create a report highlighting areas that possibly involve plagiarism and provide a “similarity score”. If this score is too high, the journal may reject your paper or ask you to rephrase the highlighted areas.

In many cases, we have found that such problems arise through inadvertent self-plagiarism, where an author has reused text from a previous paper, typically involving the methods section. We can assist with rephrasing text in these situations on a case-by-case basis (please contact us for more information), as it is usually not necessary to rephrase the entire manuscript. Please note that we need the similarity report before providing the quotation.

Our rephrasing service can also be combined with our comprehensive and standard editing services.
